History
Our story
The Sacred Heart Community, Alambadi Mettur, began its mission in 1997 in response to the healthcare needs of the local community. The Sacred Heart Dispensary was inaugurated in 1999, providing essential medical services to the people of the area. Although the dispensary later closed, the sisters have continued their mission through pastoral ministry, education, and community outreach.

The mission of the Alambadi Mettur Community is to accompany rural families through pastoral care, education, and social service. The sisters seek to bring hope and support to people by responding to their spiritual, educational, and human needs.
Apostolic Ministry
How the sisters serve
Pastoral Ministry
- Visiting families and listening to their joys, struggles, and concerns.
- Offering prayer, encouragement, and spiritual accompaniment.
- Participating in parish pastoral activities.
Anbiyam (Basic Christian Communities)
- Sharing the Word of God.
- Encouraging families to grow in faith and unity.
- Strengthening Christian community life.
Education and Children's Ministry
- Supporting children in their studies.
- Providing faith formation and moral guidance.
- Conducting Sunday catechism programmes.
Family and Community Outreach
- Organizing programmes for women and families.
- Accompanying children, youth, and vulnerable persons in the local community.
Through their simple presence and dedicated service, the sisters continue to be a sign of God's compassion among the people of Alambadi Mettur.
