History
Our story
Maria Angelica Home, Karuniya Nagar, Kootur, Tiruchirappalli, was established as a formation house for aspirants and a residence for sisters pursuing higher studies. The property was acquired in 1999, and the house was completed and officially established in 2001. Since then, it has served as a centre of formation, prayer, and preparation for young women discerning religious life, while also providing accommodation for sisters engaged in higher education.
Mission
Our mission
The mission of Maria Angelica Home is to provide holistic formation for aspirants and to support sisters in their academic studies. The community seeks to form women who are deeply rooted in Christ, committed to service, and prepared to live the charism of the Sisters of Charity of St. Mary. The community also participates in the pastoral mission of the local Church.
Apostolic Ministry
How the sisters serve
Formation Ministry
The sisters accompany aspirants through:
- Human, spiritual, and intellectual formation.
- Daily prayer and reflection.
- Formation classes and seminars.
- Community living and apostolic experiences.
- Guidance in vocational discernment.
Vocation Promotion
The community promotes vocations through:
- Vocation camps.
- Personal accompaniment.
- Faith-sharing programmes for young women.
Parish Ministry
The sisters collaborate with the local parish through:
- Catechism classes.
- Preparation of children for First Holy Communion.
- Baptism preparation.
- Family visits.
- Anbiyam groups.
- Youth gatherings.
- Liturgical animation.
Through formation and pastoral service, Maria Angelica Home continues to nurture future religious vocations and strengthen the faith life of the local community.
