History

Our story

The journey of Casa Santa Maria, Chennai, began in 2023 through a formal process of collaboration and agreement with the local Church. The agreement was signed on 15 August 2023, and the official appointment was received on 21 August 2023.

Casa Santa Maria was established with the mission of welcoming sisters who come from different countries, offering them a loving and supportive community, and initiating an apostolate dedicated to the service of the poorest and most vulnerable.

Through this mission, Casa Santa Maria seeks to foster communion, share the charism of the Institute, and respond to the pastoral and social needs of the local Church through service, compassion, and charity.

Mission

Our mission

  • To provide a welcoming community for sisters from different countries, enabling them to live in communion and share the charism of the Institute within the local Church.
  • To assign religious sisters to Pozhichalur, Chennai, to witness and live the charism of the Institute in this local Church.
  • To dedicate themselves to the pastoral care of the local community, especially among children, families, youth, and the elderly.
  • To express Christian charity through service to the little ones, the poor, the sick, and the elderly.
  • To provide care and support through alternative medicine services, including reflexology, for the well-being of the community.

Through Casa Santa Maria, the sisters continue their mission of love, compassion, and service, responding to the needs of the local Church and society.
